Rashid ad-Din Sinan, also known as the Old Man of the Mountain, was the leader of the Hashshashin from the years 1162–1192. He was a charismatic and powerful leader, statesman, mystic, warrior, and adept, and was feared in his role as the Master of the Syrian Assassins.
He remains one of the most venerated figures in Nizari Ismaili history.
